Governor Hoeven spends night at White House |
|
Since Gov Hoeven spent the night at the White House during the latest meeting of Republican Governors, all the talk is that he will be the "approved" canidiate against Kent Conrad in 2006. http://www.bismarcktribune.com/articles/2005/03/02/news/update/upd05.txt

1. Since I haven't lived in ND for a few years |

and left when Schaffer (if memory serves me) was governor, do you think Hoeven is popular enough to beat Conrad? I sure as hell hope not.

2. If all is level, then no |
|
but it is harder to call if you asssume a Thune-like smear campaign like was given to Daschle.
Mud on the media airwaves is as cheap as South Dakota, so there will probably be LOTS of outside money coming in.
Hoeven is not an outstanding or notable Governor, more of a placeholder IMO, but I expect the race to be what is wrong with Conrad (mostly overblown social issues), than what makes Hoven a better canidiate.
