Who's running for Governor in 2008?

Is there any way a Democrat could win the Governorship of North Dakota?

Any Democrats on the bench who would make good candidates, if they could be persuaded to run?

I do not know how long Joel Hietkamp's KFGO deal is, but he sure has the exposure across the state.

2. Heidi Heitkamp

looks likes she's gearing up for another run. I can't say I'd be disappointed - she got 45 percent last time against Hoeven, and now she won't have the specter of breast cancer hanging over her head.

The recent stuff she's done with the eminent domain amendment (unfortunately working with LAND, a fairly right-wing property rights group) could be how she's setting herself up to run.
