5. Sad. Well at least he will escape the 24 protests is he goes |
|
I have a friend who is working in SD all this month and he said the media is totally dominated by RW radio and conservative anchors.
The folks there don't get any alternatives to Limbaugh and friends.

6. Rove Protest in Fargo on Saturday (9/24) |

Unite on this Issue and Make Our Voices Heard! Rally to Save Social Security
Tell Karl Rove to "Take Social Security Off the Table"! Support the Community and attend a Rally
Saturday, September 24th 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Fargo Post Office 657 2nd Ave. N. Fargo
************************************************************************
We have all been shocked and immeasurably distressed by the suffering that we see in New Orleans and we commend the hard work of the relief agencies that are focusing on this effort.
However, it is apparent to all that those most affected are those with the least power – economic power, social power, and political power – which is why our local and national Organizing work continues to be important.
Karl Rove, President Bush’s top political strategist, will be in Fargo September 24.
This will be an opportunity to hold local Policy Makers accountable to their position on Social Security.
People Escaping Poverty Project has joined the efforts of North Dakotans United to Protect Social Security to Preserve Social Security and to Unite Our Voices to take the issue off the table.
North Dakotans United to Protect Social Security is a statewide coalition of North Dakota individuals and community, farm, labor, faith and other organizations is working to protect Social Security from plans to privatize the program, cut benefits, and add new debt.
The coalition recently celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Social Security program. For 70 years, Social Security has delivered well-deserved and guaranteed benefits to many residents that have contributed to the program throughout their entire lives. Many see the Social Security program as one of the most successful programs in the history of the United States. The Coalition's work is to preserve this vital program.
You may remember the big rally sponsored by the coalition in response to President George Bush's visit to Fargo earlier this year. Bush came to Fargo to kick off his call to privatize a portion of the Social Security program.
Many individuals and Organizations in this community responded by holding a large demonstration of people who disagree with the current administration's policy.
This Rally will continue this voice of opposition and will be focused on Bush's Top Aide, Karl Rove and the Policy Makers who come in contact with him on his visit on the 24th.
