Ted Strickland, the Democratic nominee, led the money chase by raising $2.5 million in June and July, bringing to $8.8 million the total he has raised since entering the race 15 months ago. The Blackwell campaign said a Cleveland-area fundraiser Wednesday headlined by President Bush raised $1.5 million. About half of that amount was included in yesterday’s fundraising report and the rest will be reported in the August filing, according to Carlo LoParo, a Blackwell campaign spokesman.
