Cafaro to replace AG-elect Dann in state senate. |
|
Capri Cafaro ran to be the substisherrod in the 13th Dist., but lost to Betty Sutton (who also won the general election.) After that, she did work for Mark Dann who ran for AG and won. Now Dann's state senate seat is vacant and Cafaro was appointed to replace him. Heard it on NPR yesterday. Sorry, no link.

2. Hence, Capri has been handed an incumbency that she could not earn |
|
I recall when she ran in my district. She was woefully uninformed on public policy and could only confidently speak to college funding. Considering that she worked her butt off, spent a ton of money and could only come up with ~40% of the electorate in a district that gave ~48% to Kerry tells me that the voters saw her as I did.
My hunch is that the Cafaros have been dumping money into the campaign funds of the powerful Democrats in Ohio to accomplish this appointment.
good thing DU is anonymous. Hi Capri! :hi:

3. I don't know that anyone really earns or deserves incumbency. |
|
I found her to be bubbling over with ideas to the point that she was talking over most people's heads. When her campaign asked what I thought of her presentation, I suggested switching to decaf.

4. she'll certainly get an education, but she cant be any worse than some dumbells that get elected |
|
I, too, find her "gushy," but I'd rather have enthusiasm and her family's money in the Party than the lack of either.

7. I'm decaffeinated. It doesn't help. |
|
Capri got her wish. Now let's hope she surprises us and does well. My district will be represented in the senate by Jason Wilson, Charlie' son. Jason was the one in charge of getting 50 signatures on petition for Charlie to run in the 6th district. He blew it. Charlie had to run as a write in. Capri sounds good after that.

9. sometimes I think caffeine helps calm me down; don't be too hard on |

Charlie; I've known seasoned political veterans to make mistakes with signatures. And then there are the poorly trained Board of Election workers that are known to give out the wrong forms and the candidate ends up being penalized. See, it's difficult to NOT be agitated.
