The commencement, which is open to the public, will be at Wright State University's Nutter Center.
Clinton's commencement stop is the first of two in Ohio. The New York senator will also speak May 12 at the Ohio Democratic Party state dinner in Columbus. Stumping twice in the state within one week "shows the incredible importance of Ohio as a crucial swing state in the election," said Ohio Democratic Party spokesman Randy Borntrager. "It also shows that the African American vote is key to winning Ohio."
Clinton will speak at 2 p.m.
"Wilberforce University's historic place in the history of black America bequeaths to Senator Clinton a blessing that she will never forget," said the Rev. Floyd H. Flake., Wilberforce's president He said the appearance of Clinton and Jakes together "will make this the most historic commencement in the history of the university and quite possibly the nation."
Wilberforce University is one of the oldest historically black colleges and universities in the country, founded in 1856 by the African Methodist Episcopal church. The private school, 20 miles east of Dayton, enrolls about 1,050 students.
