1. Edwards, but I have not funded or aided anybody yet |
|
I had written off Obama because he was procoal, but he has backed away from that. I think it would be way cool to have a black president. It would send a great message to people in countries who are our weak allies that we no longer have the face of white colonial oppression.
Dennis has let me down. I am not following his campaign. In the debates, he rails against the other candidates (Obama) who may have been against the war, but did vote for funding bush's war over the last few years. That is hardly a compelling case. I voted for Dennis in 2004. Of course, my vote did not matter because Kerry already had the nomination in the bag by March.
It just not seem as compelling as 2004 when we *had to* get rid of bush. Howard Dean had a great anti-bush message. He called him out. He taught the other dogs in the race to bark. Kerry did not start picking up points in the polls until he started attacking bush, instead of trying to accomodate bush on military policy. Maybe there is somebody in a down ticket race that I could get excited about.

I like your point about Obama in relation to the topic of the face of colonial oppression. What a contrast from Bush "nation-building" thuggery.

|
supports in December......Franken breathed new life into Kerry's campaign in Dec. .03.....
We don't need primary's!! We should just let Franken pick our nominee......don't cha think???

4. ya just had to bring up another bad topic, didn't you. I miss AL FRANKEN on the radio SO MUCH |
|
The day he left Air America to work on his Senate campaign, Randi Rhodes made fun of him, saying he talked too slow (and, of course, she never shuts up). I couldn't believe what I was hearing, and haven't tuned back into Air America since. I think the conversations Al Franken had with Tom Oliphante --by themselves--every week need to be put in a book. I scheduled my lunch around the Al Franken show; I could hardly sleep the night before conversations with Mr. O. I want to cry thinking of those good old-fashioned, informed discussions. Maybe it's Al Franken we should draft for President.

woops, thought I was responding to the other comment.
Kristy'll never have a better friend, and he will always, always miss her. now I do have a tear in my eye.
Randi Rhodes is the loudmouth who used to follow Al Franken with her own show "The Randi Rhodes Show." Also smart, but I couldn't believe it when she took a pot shot, for no reason, at Franken, on the day he was leaving. I don't disagree with her on a lot of topics, and she is also knowledgeable, just likes to hear herself talk, I think, or thinks she has so much to say she won't have time to fit it all in.
