I have not seen any threads about this on the Ohio forum so I assume that most Ohio Duers are either not in affected areas or are unable to post. Being a former Ohio resident from an affected area though, I have learned about the flooding from the local online newspaper. My heart goes out to all who are being evacuated, have had property/posessions damaged, those who have family and friends who have experienced these things, and all who are otherwise affected.

We came through Shelby on Tuesday just as the water was rising and ended up in the Red Cross facility. One of the residents told us how she got in to town so we headed out again. Everywhere you turned a road was being washed. The weird thing is that I have not heard one plea from the Red Cross or anyone about donations for these people. Not one word in the paper, on TV... nothing. Many of these folks have lost everything and several have died. We plan to take items up on Friday when we go back through town. What has our world come to. Peace, Kim

I tried to call my parents a little bit ago. I hope that the fact that they didn't answer is not a bad sign. I think that the particuliar place where they live should be alright from what I've read so far though. I hope that these people who have experienced losses are getting the help that they need. Thank you for donating to them. I hope that others do also.
