Mark Naymik of the PD says Ohio House Speaker John Husted will run for Secy of State against Brunner |
|
Jennifer Brunner has done an excellent and fair job and should get the endorsements of the newspapers. However, the GOP is going to throw everything they have against here because her position determines the redistricting of Congress and the Ohio legislative districts. If they put another shameless partisan in there, they can steal the 2012 presidential election, for that matter.
I don't have a link. It was just a brief mention in the Cleveland Plain Dealer last week.
Husted is smart and centrist in the best tradition of Ohio republicans. He's not a flaming right winger. That combination has worked for them before--lots of times. I can see the GOPs collecting millions of dollars for Husted in this race. In Ohio, one contributor can donate $10,000.

Brunner has done an excellent job and has much support. I know there is already talk around me to get organized to "be there" for her in the next election. The Dems are a lot more organized in Ohio than they used to be.

2. Ha. Jon's undoubtedly term-limited and integrity has been restored to the SOS Office. |

He is a zero sum game player, as far as I can tell. It will be interesting to see how this plays out or if this is a trial balloon. I want to say that he has as much a chance as Blackwell becoming the national GOP chair, but that would be a cheap shot, not that he's beyond taking a lot of them.
