http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/election/roberts-wins-democratic-special-election-to-face-turner-809347.html<<A young Democrat from Kettering will challenge U.S. Rep. Mike Turner, R-Centerville, this November after winning Tuesday’s special primary in the 3rd Congressional District.
The July 13 special election had an extremely low voter turnout of 1 percent of the district’s more than 550,000 registered voters. Joe Roberts, the 25-year-old president of a political consulting company, received 44 percent of the unofficial votes cast in Montgomery, Warren, Clinton and Highland counties.
His closest challenger was former TV news reporter Guy Fogle, who garnered 37 percent. Dayton business owner and 2009 City Commission candidate David Esrati finished third, capturing less than 19 percent of the vote.<<
When I saw the headline, my first thought was Tom Roberts, the state rep.
So who is this guy? Did Jane Mitakides not want to run again? The last truly viable opponent against Turner I can think of was Rick Carne, and that was how many years ago, now?
Best of luck to Mr. Roberts, though.
