and I haven't been following politics here, so are there any local blogs that might help give me a crash course? I'm living just outside of Columbus.

I like it here very much so far, but you'll have to ask after football season. I am a Sooners fan and cannot root for the Buckeyes. :)

I hope you like Columbus. I've lived here my entire life and love it-- 40 yrs. and counting. Elections are always interesting in Ohio, so you should enjoy that. The repeal of SB5 will be a good fight in the fall. We also have one of the best Senators in Sherrod Brown.
