Questions about Okla. congressional races

1.) Who is running to replace Carson in the Dist. 2 race? I hope we don't lose that dem seat to some repuke. Anyone but Andy Ewing!

2.) Who is opposing that absolute piece of festering SHIT, John Sullivan, in the Dist. 1 race? I'm a big fan of Doug Dodd.

regarding Sullivan - the answer is NO ONE as of yet. There is so much money to go up against. Granted, the man is a MORON, but the repugs still send in their conrtributions.

In CD2, it is Dan Boren, Kayln Free, and Lloyd Fields trying to replace Carson.

In CD1 there is a lawyer who has said he will run against Sullivan. I can't remember his name.

4. The Repub in CD2

There's some horse trader named Wayland Smalley apparently running for the Republicans in CD2.

I know nothing about him, but I looked up a few things. This guy is a true piece of work. Some quotes from the Claremore Press:

I just love it when someone asks a pol what his values are, and he says "family values." If a journalist ever asked the logical follow-up to that question -- define family values without using the word or any synonyms of the word "values" -- I'm sure their head would explode.

BTW, as far as I know, there's not been an official poll on this done recently, but the latest one I can find is kind of weird. Boren has 40% of the Democratic vote, and the next closest is Fields with 12%. But, the undecided were 40%. Of course this was a poll done in January.

about Delgerno or however you spell it? I have some really nasty gossip ( but true) about his days before he found god or whatever he's found.

Delgerno and I get it on pretty well on my board. Two years ago we had him on the ropes with something he posted about Brad Henry (it was something very sexual). Henry sent the OSBI to me at my house to get proof it was him making the slanderous postings. Henry never prosecuted him.

Please get that info to me and I'll make sure it gets out to the public.

8. I'm afraid Istook is all but unopposed in the 5th CD.

In other words we free thinkers in northern Pottawatomie County have no voice in Congress. At least I've not yet heard of any democrat announce candidacy.

I doubt the Switz would run for elected office. I will believe it when I see it. If you heard a rumor on one national website that is more than I have heard, and I read most of the OU bulletin boards daily.

He has made noises, but from my understanding it's more like local Democrats have tried to adopt him for his popularity.

I've seen his name mentioned on a couple websites as a possible contender, but I seriously doubt it will happen. I think Switzer likes his life the way it is right now.

17. Bert Smith's running in OK-5

He volunteered some with the Clark campaign and is retired Reserve officer, teacher, and financial planner... but yeah, I don't think OK-5 is anywhere near competitive.

The CD1 Democrat officers are worthless. It is their job to find a candidate for CD 1. They have done nothing to to get a Democrat to run against Sullivan.

If you do wish to run, go and talk to the Tulsa County Chairperson. She is very good and will help you.

16. Sullivan now has an opponent in CD1

Sullivan has an opponent. Bill Wortman, a repug will run against Sullivan in the repug primary.

The CD1 party officers (Sally Fraiser, Coleman Davis, Jusy Eason McIntrye) still cannot find a Democrat candidate.
