http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/president/Just drill down into the state. They are depressing. Not one blue county in Oklahoma. My county, Garfield, was 75% M to 25% O. I'm just sick about it.

3. Knowing a lot about Oklahoma from most of my past, I can say... |
|
Race is still a big issue in this state. Evangelical Christianity and a far rightwing local press dominate the information these people get. Combined with a poor educational system, which they will never admit, and you have a lot of backward people. Hillary Clinton did quite well, but when it comes to a black man, well we all see what happened.

from Oklahoma, we were the only State that Obama did not carry a County, however 2004 Kerry did not carry a county but Gore did in 2000. I did some research because this bothered me.
My husband wants to move to a blue State he was born and raised in Oklahoma, myself is from Michigan via Washington and I told my husband both my States carried Obama.

5. I'm so dissappointed in Oklahoma. I knew inellectually that this would |

be the probable outcome, but I had hope. Now I question who my neighbors are even more. The rest of the country turned out to vote for Obama. Here, they turned out to vote against him. People all over the world took to the streets to celebrate. Extraordinary. Yet here in Okalhoma I felt compelled to remove my Obama bumper sticker. Lawton Constitution ran an obsene lettr: the writer claimed to be ashamed of his country for electing a muslim socialist. "But, at least Oklahoma did the right thing." We're thinking of driving up to my wife's family in Chicago for the inauguration. Oklahoma is going to be a drag on that day, and I want to be at the party.
