| Westboro baptist church now hates Okies and children more than gays. |
|
As a former Mcalesterite, generally I have had issues with the corruption and small mindedness that infuses that city on both sides of the political fence.
The WBC showed up Monday to protest at the funeral of one of our own. While I did not show up at the counter protest, I have heard some of the stories that went down.
One of the best is that someone managed to, while surrounded by law enforcement, slash the tires of the WBC van. Every tire shop in town but walmart refused to repair/replace those tires, nor would a local tow truck come and give them a hand. They managed to get a AAA truck to get them to Walmart.
Sometimes the ability of that town to put aside differences to come together makes me proud.
On a side note. Based on their reception in Mcalester, they now hate Okies and children more than they hate the gays. So much for christian values.

| 1. Nice to see communities standing up for the families of |

service men and against people who claim Christianity but do not practice it.
I don't agree with the tire slashing, but it is pretty funny, and it gives me another reason to dislike Walmart.

| 2. It sounds like WBC is now "out to get" McCalister Oklahoma! |
|
Look on the WBC web site. They have even made up a song about McCalister and plan to picket a number of sites there again.

| 4. Hats off to these "okies" |
|
they might buy some of the right wing propaganda because that's all they get, but they seem to have a fundamental belief in justice and fairness. I loved the slashed tires. I hope they come back for some more hospitality.
