Brief analysis:
The more progressive, least conservative candidates in all races are losing or will lose.
In the Senate Democratic primary, Monte Johnson, the most progressive of all the candidates, is not registering enough votes to make the top three. On the Republican side of this race, Dr. Tom Coburn is beating corrupt former OKC mayor Kirk Humphreys. Coburn is notable, among other things, for advocating the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions. In head-to-head polls between Carson and both top Republican contenders, Coburn has shown to be a tougher candidate against the Democrat. The Senate race is to fill the seat being vacated by retiring long-term Republican Senator Don Nickles. This race will be tight down to the wire.
In the House District 2 race, the Democrats will not face much opposition from the Republican challanger as the district is the most heavily Democratic in Oklahoma. Dan Boren, son of former Democratic governor and senator, is the likely victor over Kaylyn Free, who potentially would have been the first woman Native American in the United States Congress.
Boren and Carson are both conservative Democrats. Carson, as a member of the House, allied with the conservative Blue Dog Coalition.
In other news, the moon still rotates around the earth.
