Democrats sweep Oregon!!!! |
|
Despite all the general gnashing of teeth, things look pretty good in Oregon.
We sweep all the statewide races (Sec of State, Attorney General, Treasurer).
We take the State Senate with a 6-seat lead and are within shouting distance in the House.
Washington County goes Blue!!! Galizio in HD 35 pickup, overcomes severe VRWC negative campaign for a long-time Republican seat. Wu crushes Ameri.
Gotta be some good stuff in there somewhere. If we take the State, we can keep the Bushite barbarians at bay for a while.

1. It wasn't my district but I'm so glad Goli Ameri lost |
|
I kinda liked her from her first few commercials but then she showed what a monster she was. It got to the point where my blood pressure almost went up as much watching her commercials as it did with W's. Then she showed her true self when she continued to attack Wu after his victory. I don't know what to think about David Wu and his controversies but there is a certain level of class that you expect from candidates and Ameri is totally lacking.

...But it still doesn't beat Denny Smith attacking Al Ullman(as Smith claimed victory on election night 1980)because Ullman was going to go back to D.C. for the lame duck session(I was standing ten feet away from Ullman at Democratic headquarters in Salem as Smith said that on the TV coverage. Ullman took it stoically, but the rest of us felt like smashing the screen.)
What was Denny's glitch that night, anyway? wasn't it enough that he'd won?
It's one thing to be poor losers, but only Republicans are capable of being nasty winners.
