Air America coming to Eugene

1. Is it possible to air a syndicated(?) version for a few hours

on a local radio station?

I emailed my local small town bumpkin radio station to see how to get AA on the air at least late at night to counter Rush Limbaugh of whom I don't like to listen to. I doubt if it will be possible but I tried. No answer yet.

4. KOPT seems to be getting rid of AAR

Has anyone else noticed the best shows disappearing? This week Unfiltered was replaced by two so called "progressive" airheads that can't figure out which side of SS privatization they should be on. The afternoons are now Ed Shultz (not AAR) and they have announced that next week we get someone named "Nancy" in the afternoons instead of Randi, followed by Stephanie Miller to replace the Majority Report.

This stinks!

I have been listening to KOPT from the first week they came on the air in Eugene, and I just hate that they are changing to this crappy format.

I have voiced my opinion to Churchill Comm. but have not gotten a response. I would like to encourage a few other DU's to please e-mail the station and maybe we can get back our AAR!

5. Nancy Skinner is excellent and runs in the mornings here. Followed

by Jerry Springer (who is also way better than I expected. I am pleased with the changes. I think different outlets are running shows that work in that area. No letter from me. :hi: Skinner (who ran and lost against Obama) is great. I'd suggest you give them a chance before going all up in arms.

6. Ummm, KOPT does not offer Jerry Springer, nor

Nancy Skinner. I wish they did offer Springer, I hear he's great. We get Nancy Staff all afternoon now instead of Randi, they bumped Randi to the 9pm slot (past my bedtime).

The entire format is horrible! I wouldn't mind the local programming sometime other than the drivetimes, but KOPT is shooting themselves in the foot by immediately taking away what drew in their audience. I MISS UNFILTERED AND MALLOY!
