Any Central Oregonians here have horses?

I'm beginning the search in earnest to find a place for my family and my two horses in the Bend area, and outlying areas within a reasonable distance; my house is on the market and a job contract is pending.

I've spent some time there, and am at least familiar with most areas. I'm picky about where I keep my horses. It's not enough to have good facilities for them at home; I have to have a place to ride them. I don't want to have to trailer them to trails every time I want to ride, and I don't do arena work unless they need a "tune-up." I want to have plenty of trails nearby.

Down here in so cal, I can ride my horse out the back gate as far as we can make it in a days' ride and never run into a street, a car, a house, etc..

If I want access to that kind of space in central oregon, where should I be looking?
