This is just a local post to remind everyone that Wyden voted for CAFTA and also was the swing vote to allow this turkey out of committee.
I'm hoping all remember this and are writing his office expressing their shock and disappointment at this traitorous act against his constituents.
(yes corporate party member Smith voted for it and yes I will volunteer to for anyone who runs against him in 08).

1. Thanks a lot Ron Wyden |
|
Have you forgotten already, Ron? It was the working people of Oregon who elected to send you off to Washington, who entrusted you to look out for their best interests. And now you vote for THIS??
I used to respect this guy. It's become pretty obvious lately that Wyden is no longer representing the Oregonians who put him into office. What a disgrace.

I hope everyone emails him.
I watch his voting record it's pretty good...until this... so I'm hoping a mass amount of Oregonians blast him for this betrayal... and he gets "right with the people" real quick.
If he doesn't...well, he wouldn't be the first Oregonian to be a member of the corporate party....but I'm not giving up on him just yet... more blast him..
I mean multinational lobbyists parade "studies" that are subtly biased which have hoodwinked politicians repeatedly (NAFTA)... and he might have been hoodwinked or conned I don't know...
but please blast him an email expressing your disappointment with specific references as to why he just screwed us (and America).

3. Wyden's making a play for the Intel and Nike campaign money |
|
I was saddened by his vote, but not surprised. Wyden can run strong against the GOP, but he can't run strong against the GOP + Nike + Intel.

1. what good is a corporate party member? If they vote to toast the middle class who cares anyway.
2. Wyden is extremely popular, I don't think he had to take the bribe here.

Is the money or fundraisers recorded in Open Secrets or something. Because I'd really like to know the exact truth behind that vote. It made no sense to me at all, until you mentioned Nike & Intel. That would just suck if that's why he voted for that crap.

Even though you won't need it for a while- and hopefully I'll be in Canada by then, don't expect my vote ever again- and in fact- expect me to urge people to vote against you. First your medicare betrayal- and now you hurt Oregon (and your own party) with this.

6. Only bad vote this year |
|
He was also the only vote against letting the energy bill out of committee, among a bunch of other good votes that surprised me. I don't know why he voted for this dung heap, but considering how many bad votes some other Dem Senators have made, I think we should count our blessings.

This vote was a mistake, but I do believe he can be swung into voting for Oregonians. I respect Senator Wyden a lot, he has stood up for Oregonians and Americans numerous times, we need to convince him to do it again.

10. Stood up for Oregonians? |
|
This guy voted for the Prescription Drug bill!! I voted for him for years but after that vote I not only called and wrote him, I changed my voter's registration from DEM to Independent and I let him know.
He seems to keep making mistakes. Check out his voting record and you'll find out that he is no longer a Progressive. He votes with big business a lot of the time. Maybe wants to bring jobs to Oregon or maybe he gets huge payoffs. Not sure about him any more.
These incumbents seem to think they can't be voted out. We need to let them know that they can. Time for some new blood that actually represents the people of Oregon, not the business lobbies!!
