I just heard that Kim's Chinese Restaurant in Medford closed because |
|
the owners retired. I am in DEEP, DEEP mourning.

2. Canton Dynasty also closed |

It's getting hard to find chinese food in Medford. I have many fond memories of Kim's. When I was learning to drive my driving instructor always stopped at Kim's for coffee and to hit on the waitresses.

6. Is that the one that had the |
|
catsup squeeze bottles on the tables? There wasn't catsup in it but some kind of (I think) shrimp sauce? It was west of I-5. Is that it?

8. it had a homemade sauce for their food that people loved so much |
|
they took it to chemists to have analyzed. Put your two fists together and that is how big their egg rolls were.
As soon as I can find the pictures, I will post them. Until then, I am sitting shiva.

DH & I were driving back from SoCal. We stopped in Medford & got a room & went out for dinner. DH wanted Chinese bad. So we're driving around & pass several Chinese places without many cars. This was on a Monday or Tuesday, so no cars isn't suprising. Anyhoo, we drive by this one place & it's absolutely packed. I said that either there was a party going on or the people of Medford knew something. We went in & it was great Chinese food. A little Americanized, but still really good.
A year of two later we were again driving back from SoCal (annual trek) & stopped in & it wasn't that good. I dunno. Maybe they were having a bad day, but years later I was talking to someone (long story) & mentioned that & he said he had heard the owners had sold to their kids & the kids weren't as fanatical as the parents had been.

edited to add that I'm sorry for your loss! I know how lousy it is when a favorite store, restaurant, etc. closes.
