Death threats taken seriously (by parents) at Madras High School
I haven't been able to find a link yet but heard about this through people I know with students in School District 509-J Madras, and just heard a small blurb about it on Oregon Public Broadcasting radio.

Wednesday, Oct. 5 ..yesterday, during the day, someone "tagged" a stall in a girl's restroom at Madras High School with a threat to kill a group of people (other students..?) at a specific time the next morning via gun. Word spread rapidly that it was a gang related threat and many parents kept their kids home today.

According to the OPB blurb, the high school is all stacked with police today.

It almost feels like.. to not go to school just emboldens the kid/kids (terrorists) who wrote it. But I am not a parent so I don't know how I would react.
