Judge Virginia Linder to run for Oregon Supreme Court

Judge Virginia Linder of the Oregon Court of Appeals has decided to run for the Oregon Supreme Court seat to be vacated by Chief Justice Wallace Carson (if elected, she would, however, be an associate justice). As the senior female judge on the Court of Appeals, Judge Linder is the highest-ranking female judge in the Oregon State Court system. Prior to being appointed by Gov. Kitzhaber to the Court of Appeals, Judge Linder served as Oregon's Solicitor General.

Currently, Oregon is one of only two states with no female judge on its highest state court.
