Minnis' cronies pay for and organize "independent" attack on Brading

Independent. Yeah right.


Furious Democrats are demanding House Speaker Karen Minnis, R-Wood Village, disavow a new mailer claiming that her Democratic opponent Rob Brading “is responsible for children viewing Internet porn in our county library” as well as the “front groups” attacking Brading.

Minnis’ campaign says no way, arguing the flyer was sent by a legitimate independent committee with no connection to the speaker.

The mailer was designed by longtime Minnis consultant Chuck Adams, who also registered the Web site for Friends for Safer Libraries. The Oregon Family Council, whose director Tim Nashif is a longtime friend and adviser to Minnis, assisted in the PAC’s formation.
