I spent all yesterday with the chain saw |

removing fallen shore pines from various parts of my garden. We've got some extra fire wood for next year now, but they say we're looking at another storm late tonight (Tuesday.) What kind of damage have you been dealing with at your house?

Small ones. The public land on my southern border has dead brush, dead and living trees, and a deep accumulation of mass to burn on the ground; 1-2 feet. The hot spots have been smoldering and re-igniting for 2 weeks now.
We could have used more of the rain that fell west of the Cascades over this way. I hope this week's rain and snow put an end to the hot spots.

2. I use a Black & Decker Alligator, seldom pull out the chainsaw .. |
|
anymore.
Safer, lighter, and usually quicker. Good from twigs up to anything less than 6" in diameter. Also because the cutting chain is shielded by the jaws you can cut stuff that is laying on the ground (a bad idea but often done practice with a chain saw).
My wife loves it. She would never use the chain saw but she can cut brush like a coked up "W" with the alligator.
