Dennis Kucinich Here In Portland This Sunday 1July |
|
Dennis Kucinich, the constant voice against this war, the voice of reason and democracy.......Dennis Kucinich, candidate for president in 2008, will be in Portland this Sunday!!!!! The event is FREE!!!!!!
Benson High School 546 NE 12th (Take MAX to Lloyd Center, then walk 2 blocks south on 12th to Benson High. Buses #74 and 70 go to the high school.) Sunday, July 1, 7:30 p.m.
The media ignores him. Jon Stewart mocks him. But Dennis Kucinich needs our attention because he speaks for us like no other candidate. Come to the free rally and hear him speak to our issues as we move into the July 4 week.
Benson High School Sunday, July 1, 7:30 p.m.
If you're going to see the new Michael Moore film this weekend, watch for his endorsement of H.R. 676, the health care bill introduced by Dennis Kucinich and John Conyers. The Medicare for All Act is a single-payer plan for universal health care. Dennis is the ONLY candidate supporting single-payer.
Dennis Kucinich wants to reverse corporate globalization policies that damage our work force and hold developing countries hostage.
Dennis Kucinich has introduced articles of impeachment against Vice-President cheney
For more information or to volunteer, please contact Colm at kucinichpdx2008@hotmail.com or Laird at 503-992-1428.
Benson High School Sunday, July 1, 7:30 p.m. FREE!! :hi:

2. As a former Oregonian, I urge all the Portland-area DUers to go hear Dennis |
|
I first heard him speak in St. Paul in 2003, and I was actually in tears at the end of his speech, because I'd been waiting for 25 years to hear a Democratic political figure talk frankly about universal health care, the bloated military budget, and our nation's screwed-up priorities.
Dennis got only a single-digit percentage of the vote in Oregon's Democratic primary in 2004, but based on my recollections of Oregon politics (such as Portland's ability to stir up 10% of its population to demonstrate against the Iraq invasion or for public education), he's a great fit for the left side of the state's political spectrum.

5. And, voila! Here I am. |
|
He's not been online for a while.
I figured since you'd already seen the movie you might not care to go again so soon, but maybe we can find a place to meet before Dennis' speech?

6. I woke up so excited this morning! |
|
I even looked up the show times. :)
4:40 show will be perfect, then off to see Dennis 2 blocks away at 7:30. I seem to remember a little Cantina in that area... and we'll have just enough time in between... You guys are gonna need a drink after seeing this for the first time.

7. I really want to see Sicko, but... |
|
...I don't know if my blood pressure can stand it. Watching and/or reading about these types of atrocities gets me more riled than is healthy. I will try to make it to Benson to see Kucinich, though!

9. Hey, you! Good morning. |
|
I was thinking if we went in a group, we could have people to vent our high blood pressure with. You know, some healing rants after the fact. See Viva's post - we're going to meet her at the theater at the Lloyd Center.
It'd be great if you decide to come too.
