Someone on this forum must be a Portland Obama volunteer, right? I tried to find a local contact number or email address via the Oregon for Obama site, but no luck.
I've been registered in OR with no party affiliation for about 7 years, but submitted a new card to change my registration to (D) so I can vote for Obama in this primary. I did this at an Obama registration table at Portland State several weeks ago.
Since I didn't get a card from the elections division (and my friends who submitted similar registration updates elsewhere did), I called them to find out whether my updated form was received. It was not, and this Tuesday is the registration deadline.
I'll be finding time during my workday Monday or Tuesday to go down to the elections office personally to submit a new updated form, but I'm concerned -- first, to find out what happened (disorganization, or somebody spoofing an Obama registration table and tossing out reg cards? Neither is good), and second, to get the word out that anyone who submitted a reg form and did NOT receive confirmation should call their local elections office Monday morning to find out whether it was received, so that there is still time to fix things if not.
