I notice that I am seeing the yard signs pop up. I find it a bit encouraging. For work I end up driving all around, in Portland, and out into the surrounding areas. I notice a more local signs than national signs. And I'm pretty sure that Ron McCarty is attaching signs to peoples private property without permission, in much the same way as the Paulites stick their signs in any public space with dirt.
But what I find interesting is that I see a fair number of Hillary signs, a lot of Obama signs, a hellacious number of Paul signs, a fair number of Merkley and Novick signs. I even saw someone dug out their old bush04 sign the other day. What I have not seen is even one single McCain or Smith sign. This is encouraging to me, though I am sure that as things wear on, we will end up with those eyesores as well.
But while I have your attention, I have a question on a local race. Its more of a curiosity for me than anything, given that my vote is already cast. The past few days I keep hearing Ad's from Kroger criticizing Macpherson for "negative" ad's. Now, my media watching is pretty consistent, I listen to KPOJ while driving the work car because it lacks a CD player and the speakers Mangle any music anyway. And thats the extent of it, other than election nights. But I have never heard a negative ad on this. What is it all about?

1. The ad that Kroger is inexperienced |

Kroger was a federal prosecutor, Clinton Admin advisor, and has an impressive resume. For Macpherson to imply that he just took the bar last week and wants to jump to AG was pretty slimy. http://www.johnkroger.com/?q=node/4

I wonder how I missed that one. Maybe it was a TV only deal, which would explain it.
