Non-cable ad note: Oregon being blasted by GWB at the moment |
|
Bush ads had not been plentiful, but they are now, clustered around local evening news.
Switched to DVD, but ran into Bush twice tonight.
On the up-side, people were after buttons and bumperstickers all day today - in my building, on the bus, and so on. Saw a few younger people on the Portland #8 who had just come off working for ACT but who were still trying to get some registrations on the bus. They were tired, but they wanted Kerry/Edwards stuff for their friends and families.
Time to reorder for one last blast come October.
VENCEREMOS!

1. GREAT! Bush is going to waste lots of money advertising here |
|
The only reason we seemed like a "swing state" in 2000 was Nader getting 5% of the vote. He's going to get less than 1% this time around. Hell, he couldn't even fill an 1000-seat auditorium deep in SE Portland this year; in 2000, he packed the Civic Center with 15-20k.
Then there's the new OR unemployment numbers. That's not the kind of thing that gets a presidential incumbent "re"elected.
Barring some kind of catastrophic October Surprise, Oregon is Kerry country.
