Who the hell is this flat-tax Sweeney guy running against Blumenaur? His profile doesn't read anything like a Democrat's. Are the repukes pulling a scam like they did in California and Georgia, dressing up black-ops as Dems in the primary race? Then there's that "protest candidate" Wells running for Secretary of State against Bradbury, lots of tweaker action in this edition.

I love The Guide, it's the ultimate bathroom reader!

Portland mayoral candidates are my favorites so far:

Scot (Extremo The Clown) Campbell calls for taxing churches...my kind of guy.

Bart Hanson has 12 years "military intelligence" and lists "U.S. Boarder Patrol" among his occupations.

Way too much fun.

Don't miss Lyndon Larouche...you might be a "sidewalk superintendent".

That Sweeney dude is no Dem. A flat tax is a Republican fantasy.

3. HAHA! Best of the guide so far: Jim Spagg running for mayor

For those who don't know, Spagg is a nudist freaker with a penchant for cable access broadcasting. He's running on a platform to promote atheism!

Somehow, I don't think he's going to get a lot of votes, but it is tempting... If I didn't have to vote for Potter to keep Francesconi out, I'd give it some thought.
