Other than Wyden & DeFazio, every fucking thing I voted for went the other way, except SAIF. It'll be a friggin' joy living here, mow down the trees, throw out land use laws, throw out your right to a civil jury, hate gays, fuck it all; we're in for raping and pillaging now I guess. How does a state vote this way and then vote Kerry? I don't know how much more of this crap I can take.

I thought Oregon was a progressive state. I guess it's not progressive enough to allow terminally ill patients better access to medicine. We couldn't have that....

8. It was a dark day for me today

I voted just as you did sandnsea, and the SAIF thing is the only crumb we got. Well that, plus gaining control of the Senate. I live in a liberal enclave, which is cool, but I am embarrassed to be from Oregon today. SHIT!

Kerry won by a large margin, much more than Al Gore.

Insurance caps went down.

SAIF lives on.

Every Democratic congressperson won re-election.

As for measures 36 and and 37, they'll be thrown out by the Oregon Supreme Court.

I know it's discouraging, but don't give up. We're still bucking the national trend, that's for sure!
