Pittsburgh radio listeners: What do you think of Johnny Mac's new show? |
|
John McIntire started on 93.7 at the beginning of April. Almost a month into the show, and I'm wondering what others are thinking?
I'll admit to being hugely disappointed. I was so excited when I heard that he got a new gig, but I didn't realize that the station's format change was going to be promoted as "The Man Station". Ugh. Instead of scintillating commentary (tm) it seems like more of the same old, male 18-35, beer/boobs/farts stuff that every other freaking FM station has. :eyes:
He only rarely brings up anything political, most of it seems to be centered around the requisite sex, boners, hooters, etc. drivel. Although he does have a definite liberal slant when anything political comes up, he is WAY too accepting of wingnut nonsense from his callers.
Now, I usually only listen to his last half-hour or so, so perhaps I'm missing something. I had higher expectations, but I suppose anything is better than Honsburger or Doug Hoerth. Sigh.

1. The little bit I've listened to I'm disappointed too |
|
Mostly drivel and catering to the stupid male audience. I'm still listening to Thom Hartmann on WPTT 1360 till 3, then if in the office I switch to either Randi Rhodes or Ed Schultz on the internet. I only catch McIntyre when I'm in the car at 3 which is rare and I've even got so sick of the drivel I've switched to Honzberger!
McIntrye's wasting his talent on this show.
Well one good thing, thanks to the crap that's on local radio after 3 pm I'm getting through a lot of books on tape when in the car.
