As I approach 500 posts, I FINALLY find this discussion group!

Just wanted to offically check in, and I don't know why it took this long to find Pennsylvania on DU. Reading OPs here, I already learned that:

1) John MacIntire is back, but it's his show is sort of equivilant to how the Lifetime network's single minded format, but for guys. I'll have to give it a listen, anyway.

2) I've found links to groups which are sort of close to Monroeville, where my husband and I live. We both contribute to the op ed of PPG whenever the 3 month waiting window lets us.

3) Someone else thinks Doug Hearth is an asshole, too. I don't even listen to the other guy who's one.

Anyway, I'll check in more often here and wondered if anyone was close to Monroeville. Looks like Westmoreland has a Dem group blog and the burgh, of course.

There is a Murrysville Democratic group that I know of...they are Westmoreland based but pretty close to Monroeville...so if you can't find a local group...let me know.

3. Thanks for the welcome, one more question

In the nomniclature of DU, I find there are some (many) acronyms I do not understand. (ex: MIHOP and other longer ones). Is there a FAQ section somewhere from the moderators to inform me so I know what people are saying in their posts?

Thanks also for pointing out the Murrysville Democratic group. That should be near enough for me, and I'll check it out!
