Obama in Scranton on Tuesday

"Obama’s bus tour will be stopping in Scranton on April Fools’ Day, a city official confirmed.

Tuesday’s visit will come on the fifth day of the Democratic presidential candidate’s six-day tour across the commonwealth, which the campaign has dubbed “Road to Change.” He is expected during the tour to discuss the need to create jobs, improve schools and make health care available to every American.

Ray Hayes, the city’s public safety director, said he received a call Thursday that Obama will be in Scranton. An official with the campaign also confirmed the bus tour will go through Northeastern Pennsylvania. “The city of Scranton received preliminary information that Sen. Obama will be in Scranton on April 1,” Hayes said. “But the location, time and duration is still unknown.”
