snip> "Gov. Ed Rendell called on lawmakers to make changes to the state dog law after operators of two eastern Pennsylvania kennels shot 80 dogs following an order that some of the animals be examined by veterinarians."
snip> ''This act disgusted and shocked citizens all over the commonwealth,'' Rendell said Saturday.
snip> "State law does not bar kennel owners from euthanizing their dogs with firearms, even if the dogs are healthy. Rendell urged passage of a state House bill that would allow only veterinarians to euthanize dogs in commercial breeding kennels."

Pennsylvania should be ashamed to have so many "puppy-mills", and so few laws to protect these defenseless animals. I hope lawmakers in Harrisburg act quickly on this (for a change).
