Racist anti-Obama flyers spread in PA, With Reaction from White Supremacists

West Bethlehem residents found a plastic-wrapped flier on lawns Tuesday morning. It asked, "Do you really want a Black President?" The flier, distributed by the New Jersey-based white supremacist group League of American Patriots, aimed racist attacks at Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

The group accused Obama, who is half black and half white, of being anti-white and a Marxist. It also smeared nations led by nonwhites as corrupt, violent and disease-ridden.

"I think it is very cowardly," said Gillian Girvin, one of hundreds of residents between Homestead and Ridgelawn avenues to receive a flier. "Is it surprising? No. Disappointing? Yes."


The White Pride supremacists were discussing this issue on their website and talking about how they all needed to comment on the newspaper's article website in favor of the flyers.
