RE: Specter and his future- I see Joe Sestak beating him in the primary. Ridge will beat Toomey, |
|
so it's Sestak v Ridge. If by some chance Specter wins the election and holds his seat, he will switch back to Republican.
His statement today "I did not say that I am a loyal Democrat - I did not say that!" is going to hurt him badly in the primary. I realize Obama said he would help him, but Obama can easily claim that he meant the general election and be neutral during the primary.
On the R's, it's true that the PA republican party has become more right wing, but PA republicans will take him over Toomey because he has a better chance of winning. People like Ridge in PA for some weird reason.

1. I definitely prefer Sestak over just about anyone else. |
|
I don't understand Ridge's alleged "popularity" either. I was thrilled when he left PA for the bush administration.

Sestak will make a great Senator. I hope it works out that he can run. I don't trust Specter as far as I can throw him.
