In sore need of some convictions, any conviction after Sean Ramaley of Allegheny was acquitted of Bonugate charges, Rep. Bill DeWeese and friends have been brought up on charges. Tom Corbett is in sore need of some charges to stick as Ramaley's acquittal gave Rep. Jim Gerlach has some great ammunition against him, contending that Corbett is using is AG position as a political position to bolster his chances at getting into the guvs manchine in 2010.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09350/1021262-100.stmCorbett continuing to use his post sets up what i perceive to be a potential conflict of interest in the theorhetical sense, what's to keep him from using his office to investigate one of his challngers. So i guess i agree w Gerlach (in this isolated instance). Isnt he already using it for political gain? Whats to say he wont go to the well to drum up some press. He hasnt apologized for trying to tarnish Ramaley, a pretty decent fella.
The guvs race will heat up for sure after the holidays and become one hot ticket.
