Anyone got a take on Anthony Williams in the Gov race? |
|
Onorato is running ads attacking him in central PA, but I just got a mailer on him and he seems like a strong progressive on issues, including gun control.
This obviously reflects his Delawar-Phila county background, also he is African American and pro-choice, backing state funding for family planning services.
Anyone know more?

1. In debate, he was strong supporter of "charter" schools & school "choice" |
|
which means putting taxpayer money into private schools, which I oppose.
Other than that, he was generally progressive.

2. His run will increase turnout in Phila. |
|
It will be interesting to see how Williams' run will affect the US Senate race. If he wasn't running, the turnout in many parts of Phila. would be very low.

I had already decided I wouldn't vote for him for other reasons, but when someone explained the politics to me, now I KNOW I will never vote for him.
I'm rooting for Onorato to widen his lead at this point. Normally Onorato wouldn't be my first choice either, but neither Wagner nor Hoeffel have a shot, so I'll take the lesser of evils in the gov race.
