Hello,
A little non-political request for advice.
On the 12th my family and I will be in West Greenwich, RI for most of the day visiting a summer camp my son is going to attend this summer. We had the idea that we'd go out to eat as part of giving my wife the Mother's Day treatment that evening.
I know there's lots of good restaurants in Providence but of course that means a lot of choices. So thought I'd ask for suggestions? It doesn't have to be Providence but I figured that'd be about right in terms of timing coming back from West Greenwich but if you know of something down that way let's hear it by all means.
My son will be with us, he is 10 so it has to be family appropriate but he's also mature enough that we don't mind taking him to a more upper scale restaurant on occasion.
Pretty much any cuisine, except Indian or Thai (she's not fond of Indian I'm not fond of Thai) Italian is always good choice for us though and I know there's lots of choice there.
Much appreciation for help.

Off the top of my head there's Harborside Lobstermania in East Greenwich, right on the water. In Providence, the best, and most expensive, is Al Forno. Get there at 5:30 if you don't want to wait. I also like Pot Au Feu, they have a downstairs bistro. 3 Steeple Street is a little less pricey. The Federal Hill district of Providence is known for Italian Food, my (Italian) ex always liked Angelo's. She said it's very reasonably priced. For some reason, she always went there without me, so I can't say any more about it. Oh, I took my mother to Neath's last fall, she loved the beef. Avoid Twin Oaks, as it's a two hour wait unless you know the owner.

Fancy schmancy, night out kind of thing, or somewhere the locals go? And let me guess... Alton Jones? Your kid is going to have an AWESOME time, if that's where he's going.
