Is anyone going to the South Carolina State Convention?

Wondering if any of y'all are going to the state convention May 1st. I'll be a delegate for York County and I'm on the list of potential delegates for the National Convention for the CD5. Just wondering if anyone else will be there. This will be my first time.

1. is there any room for progressives?

Spartanburg Co seems to be entirely dominated by Chamber of Commerce/good ole boys.

2. Well in York county the Deaniacs and more are kind of taking

back our party. And sure enough I went to the convention and I got elected as delegate for CD 5 so I'll be going to Boston. Another Deaniac from York County got elected as an At large candidate and will be going to Boston.

The same good ol boys are in York Co but we don't care we have organized and are trying to work within the good ol boy network as well as extending it to new blood. At our last monthly Forum we had 37 people who showed up at the local restaurant. I feel more energized about getting my local county energized than I do about the national campaign.

You got to start somewhere and York County Dems have done a great job at it.

Of course, since you're virtually a suburb of Charlotte I"m not surprised that there are more enlightened folks around there.

Is there anyone out there involved in the Spartanburg Co Democratic party?
About all I do is one on one with people in my store, an occasional LTTE and piss & moan.
