So, SC has no method of verified voting. We still use machines with no paper trail.
What's the best way to vote in SC? Should I just do it via absentee ballot?

1. Unveriable machines, mandated, across the entire state, |

in every single precinct.
I know of no options but the two you mentioned. I have no faith in either. I remain convinced that Inez T. was elected senator in '06.
You might look into who counts the absentee ballots. Who receives, validates, and stores them until they are counted?
At least if you go in person you get to interact with others in line, with the precinct watchers, take notes of any irregularities you might see, and if it's a small precinct, chit-chat a bit with your neighbors.
Welcome to DU, Catbo. :hi:

2. You make a good point about going in person... |

Thanks Wat!
I can't believe we don't yet have verifiable voting. It's just shameful. I swear I have more faith in writing my vote on a cocktail napkin and giving it to a friendly looking polling place representative than I do hitting the button on that stupid machine.

3. If they fix the votes again.... |

We will be in a very bad state of affairs. I'm so worried, as I know it is the plan. We will have to vote using absentee vote, but we will have to look into who will be handling it, thank you. Mrs. Moose
