Grew up in Charleston and loved the Piggie Park. The best BBQ sauce on the planet. Get it from Bessengers's (Tommy's)and not Maurice's, as he is the real vile confederate racist pig (how apropos).

Tommy publicly repudiated the racism expressed by his brother when it became a big story, but it may have been to gain market advantage. I used to love his que, but I haven't been back since the flag issue brought out that he hands out pamphlets at his main restaurant talking about how slaves used to get on their knees every night and thank Jesus for bringing them to America. He also moved the Confederate flag above the US flag at his stores until some veterans complained, and in the 50's he started a group called the Association to Preserve the White Race. He's got to be close to 90, so any day now he'll get a chance to ask Jesus how he feels about black folks.
