and when I was young, he'd get the Cromer's catalog and order party favours and toys and doo-dads for all the shriner parties and parades and stuff like that and OH MY GOD I'd just sit for HOURS looking at that catalog and DREAMING about how great it would be to buy 10-Gross Assorted Gumball Machine Toys.

Do they still have the car that looks like it drove through the building on the side of the building>

That left when they moved from Assembly Street a few years ago over to the new Berea Rd location (near the football stadium).
"I said left Harold!"
I too would ooh and ahh for hours with their catalog. Good stuff indeed!

I have recently moved to Greenville after growing up in Columbia. I went to a USC game last season and was surprised to see that they were no longer the peanuts of choice for the Fightin' Gamecocks. I remember the store they had at Dutch Square with the poor monkeys in a cage. Now for some eason I'm craving an Orange Julius....

and was saddened to see how much that part of town has changed. Monkey's were cool as hell for me to see when I was little, but now they wouldnt be able to have them.
Love the popcorn smell of the store as you got close to it inside the mall, along with that cool as painting they used to have up on the wall.

I was in CAE earlier this summer and saw that they moved to a new location downtown. It was cool going in their new shop - like a nice nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Peace!
