S.C.’s jobless rate soars to 6.9 percent (3rd highest in the nation)
South Carolina’s unemployment rate rose to 6.9 percent in October, the first time in at least 15 years that every S.C. county had jobless rates above the U.S. average.

Lexington County, home to the state’s lowest jobless rate — proved to be the tipping point. Its 5.2 percent unemployment rate ranked lowest in the state but above the nation’s 5 percent rate.

.......

The state’s jobless rate rose from 6.6 percent in September, its third consecutive increase and the third highest in the nation, the S.C. Employment Security Commission reported Tuesday.

Only two states had higher jobless rates: hurricane-ravaged Louisiana (11.3 percent) and Mississippi (9.6 percent).

1. Ain't it great, and the best part is ....
... they'll find a way to make this into getting more tax cuts for the rich, while property and sales taxes increase to 'help business'. I mean, when the non-rich are hurting, what do you do?

Pile on, baby.

3. I believe if the corporations...
would pay more here...and quit billing us as cheap labor...but it will never happen if we don't get sanford out...
it is bad because people especially in the charleston area deserve to make more because the area is such a hot commodity...
i appreciate you posting this piece.:hippie:
