Has anybody seen the Mark Sanford |
|
commercial that tells about spending over $800/night for hotel rooms before Sanford became governor and now rooms are shared and money saved?
Why is nobody hitting on the fact that it also says this was in PARIS? And what in the hell were state employees doing in Paris? If rooms are now shared, does that mean our state employees are still going places without the people of the state who pay for it knowing about it? Wouldn't it make more sense not to even have to rent hotel rooms in places like Paris (not to mention saving travel costs) in the first place?

I wonder if we can tar Sanford with the "looks vaguely French" slur.

It's so meaningless, you could apply it to anyone. How does someone "look French"?

I know the ad says Paris, but the original controversy was about hotel rooms in Japan while Beaseley (a Republican) and a delegation was attending a conference called the Southeast US/Japan trade forum. The convention hotel was $800, which, believe it or not, is not an unusual cost for Tokyo. The Paris part would likely be the international air show, which alternates between Paris and England. It was at that event two years ago that the state closed the deal on the Vought/Alenia project that is under construction in Charleston and will create almost 1000 jobs.
