We need more progressives in SD to be speaking out. There are now a few blog run by Dems and I suggest that we need to start checking them and adding our comments to the dialog.
I am frequently out of the loop re state issues and pledge to try and do better. I just discovered this site today:
http://citizensforastrongersd.squarespace.com/Citizens for a Stronger S.D., Inc. (CFASSDI) is a private, non-profit South Dakota corporation and 527 committee registered with the IRS. Its mission is to hold South Dakota political leaders accountable on issues of concern to workers and families. The group believes a progressive agenda will make for a stronger state politically, economically, culturally, environmentally, and economically.
In the immediate future, CFASSDI will focus on issues such as wages, right to work, employment at will, Social Security, pensions, worker benefits, energy prices, tax fairness, education funding, the environment, and responsible economic development. Future plans include voter registration drives, particularly of disenfranchised and ignored citizens in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties.
