For what its worth, Tom Van Norman assures me that Stan Adelstein, even though a Republican, has indeed been a moderate Republican, genuinely concerned about the poor, and sympathetic and helpful on issues that are of importance to Native Americans.
I believe that I have witnessed genuine concern on this second point myself when I have testified regarding ICWA and education issues before committees of the state legislature.
Therefore, if he does become the Democratic candidate for state Senate, he is well worth supporting. This is all the more so because he has influence with a large number of other moderate Republicans whom he just might bring with him into Democratic ranks if he gets genuine Democratic support.

had he chosen to become the Democratic candidate, and am a bit disappointed that he ultimately decided not to do so. However, I think his support of Katus will really help in that campaign.
