There must be. I just opened a mailing that I received last week from the SD Dem party hoping that it would have some information to give you. Alas, it was just a solicitation for funds.
Brief synopsis of South Dakota politics right now.
1) Stephanie Herseth's seat is reasonably safe. A recent poll showed her with a 60 to 24 advantage over Republican opponent Bruce Whalen, and just after that poll came out Whalen's campaign manager got caught repeating clear and obviously lies about Herseth, and there's a minor scandal that has even received decent media coverage. Herseth is no wonderful standout Democrat, but she will almost certainly hold the seat which will be one more that can be counted toward a Democratic majority.
2) The bill that the Republicans passed and Governor Rounds signed back in March that would ban almost all abortions in South Dakota has damaged the Republican Party statewide. Democrats are hoping to pick up some seats in the state legislature where their present numbers are pitiful. Out in Rapid City Stan Adelstein, a Republican incumbent State Senator of some standing who opposed the abortion bill, and then lost in the Republican primary weighed a switch to the Democratic Party, finally decided against it, but came out strongly in support of the Democratic Candidate for his present seat, and promised to go door to door and visit 5,000 homes on behalf of the Democratic. He also made some strong public statements about the Republican Party no longer having room for moderates such as himself. There have been similar moves by other old time mainstream Republicans.
3) The controversy also hurt Governor Rounds whose approval rating fell 14 points after he signed the bill. The bad news is that that was from 72% approval to 58% approval, and that since then it has edged back up.
4) There is, of course, no US Senate race in SD this year.
Sorry that I can't tell you much about the local races in the Sioux Falls area, or where any meetings might be out there. (I'm about 330 miles from Sioux Falls).

I've been doing my homeowrk as to what's going on around here, but haven't seen anything on meetups. I actually got called by an automated poll yesterday asking my position on the abortion issue, and the questions were slanted so far to the right that it was pathetic.

There is not much in the press about amendment e. The State has its hands full defending against the censorship by a State Judge of a website that supports amendment E.
The Judges Order is illegal on 2 fronts. A Judge can not censor a political website and the one of the parties commited perjury. Not just a small lie but out right perjury.
The South Dakota Supreme Court wants a Grand to hear the case. Justice has a price.
Maybe he could right a bunck of no account checks using fake social security numbers as that is what judges favor in South Dakota
