I have no pics, but I do have a report from our march today!
We met at Coolidge Park at 4 and approx. 120 people marched to Miller Park where we were met by 15 to 20 others. Speakers, music, followed by a candlelit vigil that began at 7:00.

It was a wonderful experience to be in a group of people who just want peace. None of the ugly vibes one gets from "others", just calm folks who are committed to peace and justice.

Hope your day was great, too.

4. Yep, and for Chattanooga the number's not so bad.
News crews were present before we began the march, but I didn't see any at Miller Park. There was a reporter there from the Free Press and a photographer from the Chattanoogan. I don't know about coverage yet as we were still participating when the 6:00 news aired. I'll try to stay awake 'til 11:00.

Sadly, Yesterday's closed years ago. I loved that wooden bar. If memory serves either the intact bar or sections of it were sold. Yeah, it sucked.

5. WRCB had film at 11:00. My spouse had a very short oppor-
tunity to speak, I had on a button that was shown (If you're not outraged you're not paying attention), lots of signs, the vigil was mentioned, but not shown.

Yeah!!!!!

9. Cool, I wish I had known who to be looking for!!!
I responded to your pm. My spouse and 3 boys were there. My middle child had on his DU donkey t-shirt and was carrying a Who Would Jesus Bomb sign with some graphic pics on the other side. I was wearing jeans, black turtleneck, with a button that read - if you're not outraged you're not paying attention. My sign read 'peace is a family value'. Any of this seem familiar?

12. Times Free Press story on Sunday....
apparently they interviewed someone watching the protest, and she exclaimed "I support the war, and I support Bush, I do not support hippies"

So I'm anti-war, anti-Bush, I'm suddenly a hippie? It could be worse...republican, for example.

Thanks for posting pics....wanted to go badly but had sick kiddos.

13. The funny thing about her comments was that in the small pic
that was with the article the man upfront in the picture had on a white shirt, tie and a jacket! The men had on jeans, khakis, pull over shirts and lightweight sweaters. Same for the women except for maybe 5 people. One guy who wasn't marching, who proudly refers to himself as Hippie ****, was helping to set up equipment, etc. at Miller Park.

We were really a fairly well dressed bunch for a rally!

Sorry you couldn't make and hope the kiddos are better. I missed getting to Nashville to see Chairman Dean 'cause I had one up sick last night.
