I'm watching Bredesen's state of the union (this year's I believe) and I'm really liking him. I liked him before but not like I like other democrats. I love how he has education and jobs as a top priority and making a balanced budget without trying to raise tax's since things are hard now days. I hope he can work out TennCare though. Is he up for 2006 or 2007? Last I saw his polling numbers last month they were 52%. Back in January I saw his polling numbers were 70% which is great for a democratic governor in a "red" state and he was mayor of Nashville from 1991-1999. Is anybody running against him next year does anybody know? I've heard his name being thrown around for a presidential run in 2008. I read an article from Jacksonville earlier this year (in January) and someone who worked for him claimed he wasn't interested in being president and campaigning. Part of me hopes he stays governor and other part of me would love him to run as president or be a VP choice.

Googled some biographical info:
The links to Frist must be somewhere...

B.S. in physics from Harvard University, 1967. (snip) Hospital management contracts negotiator, Hospital Affiliates International, Nashville, Tennessee, 1976-80; Founder of Healthplans Corp., later HealthAmerica, an HMO operator, sold HealthAmerica, helped found Clinical Pharmaceuticals and Coventry Corp., 1986; unsuccessful candidate for mayor of Nashville and congressman from Tennessee, 1987; Mayor of Nashville, 1991-9; unsuccessful candidate for governor of Tennessee, 1994; Founder of nonprofit Land Trust for Tennessee, to protect open space and family farms; Governor of Tennessee, 2003-present (next campaign 2006).
Personally I want him to stay in Tennessee.

I think he has a lot of other work. One part of me would like him to run for president but I think it would look more impressive in the primary if he was a two-time mayor and two-time governor in a "red" state.
